After a public hearing with no testimony, King City's council voted to adopt the FY 2026–27 budget on June 17. City manager Vinny told the council that adoption enables implementation of council priorities on the schedule staff laid out: "The adoption of the budget will allow the implementation of council priorities beginning 07/01/2026," the manager said.
At the same meeting the council also adopted a strategic plan developed during a two‑day League of Oregon Cities facilitated session; the plan contains a mission statement, vision and six primary goals with objectives that staff will convert into an action plan and timeline over the coming fiscal year. Council directed the city manager and staff to prepare implementation frameworks, with milestones and performance measures, and to return with action‑plan details in the months ahead.
