Resident urges better tree maintenance and asks city to address repeated water outages

He told the council the hill above Northeast Skyline Drive is littered with dead wood and ivy that he believes increases fire risk and asked for a cleanup: “If they cut it at the ground, cut it a couple feet up, and eventually, they'll die,” Bridal said. He urged the city to coordinate with the county and neighboring landowners to reduce hazards.
Bridal also described a recurring reliability problem at a pressure line feeding about 10 houses above the town: “When we lose power up there, we lose water. We've been four days without water from there,” he said. He suggested the city ask the antenna-tower tenant whether the city could tie into the tower’s generator during outages. Public works staff accepted Bridal’s request for a service request and advised him how to submit the details so staff can inspect the property and evaluate potential remedies.
