Torrance County animal shelter reports rapid kennel repairs and transfer success for 33 puppies

Fields reviewed prior poor facility conditions—damaged outdoor kennels, severely degraded blue room flooring and hidden structural issues discovered when old protective armoring was removed—and said completed improvements (exterior fencing, temporary outdoor kennels and blue-room floor restoration) have already reduced stress for animals. He also reported the kennel repair project is roughly three weeks ahead of schedule and emphasized the value of transfer partnerships and foster networks in improving placement outcomes.
The Board accepted the report; no budget appropriation beyond existing grant and department funds was approved during this presentation.
