Board greenlights Revere Road supplemental funding, approves MFT contracts and tables WHKS supplemental agreement

The Road and Bridge items dominated part of the June 18 meeting. The board approved a BLR 9110 supplemental resolution for Improvements to the Revere Road project (Section 20-00044-04-RS) to account for higher-than-expected bids. Prestegaard explained the supplemental reflects increased bid amounts and the motion passed by unanimous roll call vote.
The board also approved a Highway Authority Agreement for County Highway 4 at IL 54 near Farmer City (the old Casey’s site) and approved 2026 County MFT General Maintenance Contracts, which give Prestegaard authority to approve general maintenance county contracts. Separately, a supplemental professional services agreement with WHKS — an extension that would raise the original $85,000 contract toward a $170,000 not-to-exceed figure — drew questions about carryover across budget years and how Barnett Township reimbursement would be handled; Carter moved to table the supplemental agreement and the motion to table passed unanimously.
The minutes note the original WHKS agreement and that, as of last week, $57,000 had been paid, with remaining original funds and upcoming projects (including Barnett Township overlay) factoring into the debate; no supplemental WHKS contract was approved at this meeting.
