Board approves tank decommissioning and replacement of county building air compressor

The Property committee recommended and the board approved two facility maintenance contracts on June 18. Chase Environment was awarded a $15,770.00 contract to remove and decommission underground tank number two at the county building; members noted removal will coincide with concrete work in the same area and confirmed a separate tank (tank 3) exists on the jail side.
Separately, the board approved LS Mechanical’s low bid of $16,793.20 to replace the county building’s air compressor. Roll call votes were unanimous on both actions. The minutes record that disposal of contaminated fuel from underground storage tanks and replacement of jail air conditioners are expected to come forward for future consideration.
