Public-safety and DPW reports: ambulance and fire operations, Wolfsberger Park progress

During the Feb. 17 meeting, Chief Ed Sheidlower submitted a report on general ambulance operations and Chief Cory Trewer submitted a report on fire department operations; neither report generated board action during the meeting. Trustee Harris said he and Mendon Councilperson Cheek began a review of the ambulance contract and will prepare general informational material for Mendon residents.
Code Enforcement/Fire Marshall David Ford reported construction progress at Wolfsberger Park, particularly the townhomes, and said he will continue researching how other municipalities enforce noise complaints. Deputy Highway Superintendent Eric Walker said the DPW is performing routine maintenance on plow equipment, noted salt supplies are becoming an issue but currently adequate, and praised the crew’s performance while short-staffed during the recent snow event.
