Honeoye Falls to pursue RFP for fire truck replacement; refurbishment and new-purchase costs outlined

Mayor Milne told the board the village needs to define exactly what it wants before pursuing federal funding to replace the QUINT/ladder truck for the Honeoye Falls Fire Department. He said refurbishing the existing QUINT-560 would cost about $1.2 million but would not include upgrades; a new truck would likely cost in the $1.7–2.0 million range and would be ineligible for many grants if purchased used.
Separately, Mayor Milne reported paperwork for a fire department project reimbursement has been finalized and a fence around the generator was being installed the day of the meeting. No capital contract award or replacement purchase was approved; the board discussed moving toward an RFP to set specifications for future grant requests.
