Hopewell board bars new out-of-district water users
Summary
Following review of Water Superintendent Joe Eckam's recommendations, the Town Board voted 5–0 to stop accepting any additional out-of-district water users; the motion was made by Council Member Jeffrey Trickey and seconded by Council Member Andrew Faust.
Supervisor William Namestnik presented an email from Water Superintendent Joe Eckam with thoughts and recommendations on out-of-district water customers (Exhibit B). Board discussion addressed operational and policy implications of drawing new customers from outside the district.
Council Member Jeffrey Trickey moved, and Council Member Andrew Faust seconded, a motion "to approve the Town of Hopewell Water to not have any more out of district users." The motion was adopted unanimously, Ayes 5, Nays 0.
