Hopewell board backs county sewer grant to serve Lincoln Hill Farms

Ontario County Planning Director Thomas Harvey presented a map and explained a County Infrastructure Grant that would install sewer service for projects in the area, saying the push began after the owner of Lincoln Hill Farms requested sewer to expand glamping and parking. "The Town of Hopewell would not have any fiscal obligation," Supervisor William Namestnik confirmed during the discussion.
Council Member Mark Curran moved and Council Member Jeffrey Trickey seconded a motion for the Town of Hopewell to support the Sewer Expansion Grant project in partnership with the Town of Canandaigua and the Town of Gorham. The board adopted the motion unanimously, recorded as Ayes 5, Nays 0. Harvey said Ontario County will select only one project to receive the grant and that the Town of Gorham — not Hopewell — would be the signatory and service provider if the project is chosen. The grant application is due to Ontario County on Feb. 17, 2026.
