The Otoe County Board of Commissioners convened in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on July 28, 2026. Commissioner Jerad Sornson called the meeting to order and recorded Commissioners Freshman, Parsons, Crownover and Cole present.
Commissioner Cole moved, seconded by Commissioner Freshman, to accept the posted consent agenda. Voting aye were Sornson, Freshman, Parsons, Crownover and Cole; there were no nays and the motion carried. The board noted that notice of the meeting had been posted in the Nebraska City News Press and at public locations including Syracuse City Hall, Morton James Public Library and the Otoe County website.
The action put routine claims and payroll items on the meeting record for later consideration. With the consent agenda passed, the board proceeded to the published public hearings and reports scheduled for the session. The public hearing portion of the agenda began later in the meeting; no public comment was recorded at the opening roll call and consent vote.
