During the consent portion of the meeting the council approved a set of routine items (6a–6d) including disbursements, an application to VTrans for additional funding on the East‑West Alternative Transportation Crossing project, financial reports and the sale of a 2009 Pierce fire engine. Council later took separate action to appoint Councilor Andrew Yu as the city's primary representative to the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission with Chris Shaw as alternate; the motion passed unanimously.
At the meeting's conclusion the council convened liquor control and approved license renewals listed in item 13 by unanimous vote. In executive session the council approved a negotiated settlement resolving a tax appeal for the property at 514 Farrell Street; the settlement set assessed valuations (2024: $4,397,371; 2025 and 2026: $4,100,000) and included a taxpayer waiver of interest on reimbursable overpayments for 2024–25 and mutual payment of attorney fees. The council authorized the City Manager to finalize and execute the settlement agreement.
