City planning staff and outside consultants presented four design "territories" aimed at creating a flexible civic brand for Peekskill that can be used for tourism, events and partnerships. Consultants said the river and the city's creative and industrial identities were the most consistent themes and showed example wordmarks, color palettes and sub-brand concepts for kids, events and "Peekskill Originals." Paul Hodgson (consultant) said the survey is not a final contest but an input-gathering step that will inform refinement.
Planning staff said the survey will be distributed across social media, flyers and the city website in the coming days so residents, including youth groups and high-school students, can respond before Labor Day. Council members encouraged broad outreach to the artist community and youth and said the results will be used to refine the designs before a later selection.
