Matt Rudikoff, the city's economic-development executive, told the council that reconstruction of the floating docks at Fleischmann Pier is in its final stage and contractors have ordered and mostly received the necessary hardware. He said Trinity Cruises has asked the city to amend its license so the same boat that ran last fall (the Nellie Bly) can use a floating dock this foliage season through the end of November, subject to submission of required documentation and city-manager authorization.
Rudikoff said a resolution to amend the license agreement is included in the packet and can be acted upon at the next regular meeting if the council wishes. Several councilmembers expressed support, saying the fall foliage tours are an asset to the waterfront economy.
