Jessica Gannes, the city's Section 8 director, updated the council on progress preparing the 2026 annual plan, reporting the program holds 570 vouchers, maintains an 85% inspection scheduling rating and has enrolled 25 participants in the Family Self-Sufficiency program. She noted recertification and interim forms have been translated into Arabic, Russian and Spanish to improve access.
Gannes asked the council to set a 45‑day review period and a public hearing for Sept. 22, 2025; staff confirmed the plan must be posted for 45 days before that hearing. "As you all know, the City of Peekskill is required to adopt the annual plan for the fiscal year of 2026," Gannes said, adding she would provide the missing attachment to council members the next day. Council members agreed to schedule the public hearing for the proposed date.
