Hopkinton board approves $1.5 million appropriation for Lake Ozonia culvert under Bridge NY program

The Hopkinton Town Board on Oct. 10 adopted a Bridge NY resolution authorizing the town to advance funding for a culvert replacement on Lake Ozonia Road and to seek reimbursement from the Bridge NY program.
Supervisor Wood introduced paperwork for the Bridge NY grant and Councilperson French offered the resolution (seconded by Councilperson Eakins). The resolution identifies the project as Lake Ozonia Road over Hopkinton Brook (P.I.N. 7754.38) and states the town will design, let and administer all phases of the work. "The sum of $1,500,000 is hereby appropriated pursuant to a bond anticipation note and made available to cover the cost of participation in the above phase of the Project," the resolution states.
The resolution specifies that qualified costs may be reimbursed at a ratio of 100% Bridge NY funds to 0% non-Bridge NY funds and further obligates the Town of Hopkinton to be responsible for any costs exceeding the reimbursable amount. It commits that construction shall begin no later than 24 months after award and that the construction phase shall be completed within 30 months. The board also authorized the Supervisor to execute all necessary agreements, certifications or reimbursement requests with the New York State Department of Transportation as required.
The board recorded the vote as: Supervisor Wood AYE; Councilpersons Eakins AYE, French AYE and Rust AYE (Councilperson Burns was absent at the time). The resolution was adopted and takes effect immediately, with a certified copy to be filed with the New York State Commissioner of Transportation.
