He said the Wheatley Road extension is underway and final cost is expected around $1.5 million, a $400,000–$500,000 reduction from the original $2 million budget.
The changes reduce near‑term capital pressure and create flexibility to fund other projects in 2026; staff did not propose immediate ordinances tied to these savings at the meeting.
