The Peekskill Planning Commission voted to grant a one‑year extension of final site plan approval for Lot 2 of the subdivision at 1763 Park Street. The applicant and owner, Michael Vara, requested the extension after explaining construction sequencing means work can begin on only one of the two lots at a time.
Chair Stern called for objections; none were raised and the commission approved the extension unanimously. The extension runs one year from the meeting date and allows the applicant additional time to secure permits and financing before triggering site‑plan start dates under the code.
The record notes that construction on one lot can proceed immediately while the other lot awaits a later start; if demolition, remediation or a building permit activity occurs that constitutes the start of construction under code, applicants were advised they should confirm with the building inspector whether an extension remains necessary.
