CSW reports two-class trauma-informed care workshop with 10 participants; members to present findings at statewide conference
Summary
The Committee reported two workshop sessions delivered to ten participants, including Native Hawaiian practitioners and midwives, and discussed inviting participants to present lessons learned; Member Niess and the Chair will present the Committee’s findings at the Hawaiʻi Public Health Institute conference on Oʻahu.
Committee members reported on the Trauma-Informed Care Workshop: two classes had been completed and ten (10) participants were registered, including Native Hawaiian practitioners and hospital midwives. The facilitator invoice has been submitted for payment, and the Chair suggested inviting workshop participants to a Committee meeting after program completion to share lessons learned and feedback.
Member Sonya Niess and Chair Malia Davidson-Faleafine will present the Committee’s gathered information about trauma-informed care from roundtables and the workshop at the Hawaiʻi Public Health Institute Health Conference on Oʻahu next week. The Committee did not take formal action beyond the status report.
