At its July 14 meeting the Wahkiakum County Board of Commissioners approved the following formal actions (all votes recorded as Aye: Tischer, Letham and Cothren unless otherwise noted):
- Consent agenda including Regular Meeting Minutes of July 7, 2026; Resolution No. 86-26 authorizing Electronic Communications Cumulative Reserve Fund expenditures totaling $28,085.73; voucher approval in the amount of $187,146.00.
- Resolution No. 87-26 directing the County Auditor to place a proposition on the general election ballot to replace an expiring six-year EMS levy.
- Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. K6438 and Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. K6439 with the Washington State Department of Agriculture Fairs Program (contact information updates).
- Appointments: Katie Pierson (Scientific Interest/Expert seat, MRC) through Dec. 31, 2027; Javier Sanchez (Economic & Local Resident seat, MRC) through Dec. 31, 2027; Mary Hogue (Port District No. 2 alternate, through Dec. 31, 2026).
- Entered into a 2026 Roadside Mowing contract with Bush Whacker's LLC.
- Approved Short Plat 2026-0003 (Jess Carlson) to convert a duplex lot into two condominium parcels.
- Approved budget amendment and MOU to create a temporary full-time Office Assistant I position in HHS; approved Agreement #1061-41-2031 with Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department for online food worker training, testing and card issuance, Jan. 1, 2027–Dec. 31, 2031.
These items were approved by unanimous vote; the minutes do not record any opposed or abstaining votes nor list dissenting commissioners.
