The CCRASD Governing Board received a presentation from John Phelps on Oct. 9 about the County Jail Education program and steps taken to ensure incarcerated students can earn valid high school credentials. Phelps said the district continues to coordinate with jail partners (JDC) and noted that staff recently facilitated another jail graduation.
Phelps also described ongoing compliance and program work tied to accreditation: the district is preparing for a JDC COGNIA mid-cycle review and scheduled SPED programmatic support and monitoring visits. He identified onboarding of a new JDC/Jail teacher as a recent administrative focus and said the district met with partners to finalize that process.
