The Long Prairie City Council on May 27 unanimously approved a proposal from engineering firm Bolton & Menk to update the city's AIWA Risk and Resilience Assessment and Emergency Response Plan. The contract is billed hourly but capped at 100 hours and $14,125.00.
Council discussion noted the update is part of federally required planning to identify ways to make the city's water supply safer and better prepared for emergencies. Council Member Clint Krueger moved to approve the proposal, and Council Member JoAnn Schroeder seconded the motion, which passed without dissent. The contract will use the 2021 assessment as a base and produce a refreshed report for compliance with Environmental Protection Agency guidance.
