Highway superintendent authorized to cancel ADT contract; Isgar hired and residency waiver approved

Superintendent Balcom updated the board on March highway activities including culvert replacement, storm cleanup and equipment maintenance. He asked the board to cancel the ADT security contract for the highway shop, which carried a monthly fee of $150; the board approved cancelation and authorized purchasing replacement cameras to be maintained by the town IT person.
Balcom reported he interviewed five applicants for an open MEO position and recommended Adam Isgar. The board authorized hiring Isgar and waived the residency requirement (Isgar lives just over the town line in the Town of Albion). Councilman Eric Pappa moved to hire Isgar and Councilman Larry Atkinson seconded; the motion carried by roll call (AYE).
Balcom also noted the new truck ordered last year is expected to arrive in fall 2027.
