Oswego County $10 million tree program includes Richland in first round

Oswego County Legislator Ed Gilson told the board that Oswego County has been awarded a $10 million grant to supply municipalities with trees and cover planting; the program is estimated to cover about 9,000 trees. Gilson said the county is starting to distribute information on April 1 and that the Town of Richland and the Village of Pulaski were included in the first round.
Gilson also noted an Eagle Scout has proposed a project to install wildflower plantings or birdhouses; the Town will consider volunteer projects in coordination with park plans. The size and species of trees available under the county program were not specified in the minutes.
