A PEF spokesperson said "94% of the money that we give from this check goes to teacher salaries," and listed rough allocations: more than $1 million to the high school, about $800,000 to middle school, roughly $400,000 to each elementary school and specified amounts for other programs and schools.
Board members thanked PEF and the community for sustained fundraising and noted the gift supports instructional staffing and student programs. The giving campaign will launch with outreach to the community, the foundation said.
