Union City Borough Council voted Sept. 16 to approve a resolution asking Erie County to prepare a new countywide comprehensive housing plan aimed at improving both quality and affordable housing.
The minutes say the county will use funding "from the MAP grant and Act 137 the Affordable Housing Act funds which are from housing deed transfers." Councilors noted several borough residents have applied for Act 137 funds based on income. The resolution passed unanimously and formally records the borough’s support for the county-led planning effort; it does not obligate borough funds.
