Union City approves $23,600 in Renaissance Grants to tackle blight

Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported seven Renaissance Grant applications totaling $60,606 in project value and requesting $23,600 in grant funding for the 2024/2025 grant period; the borough has $90,547.35 available in the Renaissance Grant fund. Councilor Steadman moved and Councilor Osborn seconded a motion "approving the recommended Renaissance Grant applications, totaling $23,600 for the 2024/2025 grant period." The motion carried unanimously.
Wells said the approved improvements to private properties are intended to help combat blight within the borough. Council's recorded approval provides staff authority to proceed with program administration and disbursement to the approved projects.
