Highland Falls trustees debate rescinding B3 and reverting to older zoning map

Several residents urged explicit language in the draft local law to keep specific blocks — notably Pelwood area lots from Walker Avenue to the Mormon church — residential; they asked that parcel identifiers be written into the law rather than rely solely on the board’s display map.
The board and staff repeatedly emphasized the need to match the text of the draft local law with the color-coded map to avoid confusion at the county filing stage and to ensure the public hearing presents the same information in both words and graphics. The attorney and planning staff will prepare updated maps and revised law text for circulation and the trustees said they may continue the hearing if necessary to give the public time to review the corrected materials.
