Clerk/Manager Audrey Caufield told the council that the fire fund award exceeded the estimate and required a budget adjustment to avoid showing a deficit. "If you look at fund our fire fund 209, the estimated budget was $112K but the actual award was $168K," Caufield said, explaining the purpose of BAR No. 1.
Councilor Y. Garcia moved to approve Resolution 2026-29 (Budget Adjustment Request #1); Councilor E. Barnes seconded. The motion passed with Councilors Armenta, Barnes and Garcia voting yes; Councilor Ortiz was not present. The BAR modifies fund accounting to reflect the additional revenue and align expenditures with the updated award.
