Supervisors approved the township's 2025 budgets by a 4—1 vote after reviewing projected revenues, expenses and fund balances. Chair read the budget figures and asked for a motion to approve; the motion carried on a roll call after debate.
"Our general fund budget has total incomes of $860,326.44," the Chair said while reviewing figures, adding that total expenses were $973,721.63, giving a deficit of $113,395.19. The board also reviewed the state fund, which showed total incomes of $138,877.31 and total expenses of $206,000, a deficit of $67,122.69. Chair noted the current fund balance of $178,101.12 and said the net position left the township about $64,705.93 in the black for next year.
One supervisor explained the reason for a lone dissenting vote: "I'll be voting no... I just like to be one more part of that conversation and be heard next time," the member said, adding that they support donations to community groups but wanted more input on allocation decisions. The board voted to adopt the budgets, 4 in favor and 1 opposed.
The budget resolution included an early principal payment on a loan of $12,412.20 to meet budgeted loan payments sooner than anticipated. Supervisors said they could consider midyear adjustments if unanticipated needs arise.
The board set its reorganization meeting for January 6 at 7 p.m.; routine follow-up items and any midyear budget requests will be considered there.
