French acknowledged community concerns about truck detours through Burkeville and drivers ignoring closed crossovers and pledged to share signage and grading plans: "I'll be happy to share the signage plan," he said. Board members requested reduced speed limits near the Piedmont Geriatric entrance, more conspicuity for the removed crossover, and increased enforcement during the detour. Road crews also plan edge‑line rumble strips on Route 460 starting July 28 as a safety measure.
