Park staff to staff Harvest Festival table as part of sustainability outreach

Park staff told the Piedmont Park Commission that the city will use the Harvest Festival in September to solicit resident input on a newly launched sustainability and park-management plan. Nancy, a park staff member, said the city will host a staffed table at the festival and that designers from WRT will be present to answer questions and collect feedback.
"Harvest Festival is one of the happiest and well attended city events," Nancy said, adding that the outreach booth will include an interactive activity and a small take-away for attendees. Commissioners asked whether staff or consultants would share a schedule and were told the WRT outreach plan is part of the firm's proposal and will be shared once work is underway.
Why it matters: staff framed the festival as an early public-engagement point in the plan's outreach schedule and said the commission will have at least one formal meeting where WRT presents findings. The commission directed staff to inform residents who had expressed prior interest so they can attend the presentation.
