Township moves to pursue PennDOT multimodal grant for Godfrey Hill paving; fast turnaround required

The road supervisor reported that the PennDOT multimodal grant that previously funded road work has reopened and that Godfrey Hill is a strong candidate. The grant previously provided $60,000, and the supervisor asked the board to approve preparation of updated cost estimates for paving, shoulder backup and guardrail work; the application deadline was noted as Nov. 2.
The chair said the board may need to approve a resolution for the local match and that a short-notice special meeting could be required to adopt the resolution before the grant deadline. "I may have to call a quick special meeting one day before the [deadline]," the chair said, noting special-meeting advertising requirements. Board members agreed to cooperate to get cost estimates and to support a short-notice resolution if required.
Staff will prepare a draft resolution and updated cost estimates for review prior to any special meeting. The board voted to approve the road report and to move forward with grant-preparation work.
