Several departmental and partner reports were presented during the May 19 meeting. Jennifer Luengas-Otto, Director of Economic Development, reported the Ames Regional Economic Alliance is working with small communities on childcare and real estate matters; Shannon Thiele, Vice President of Affiliate Programming, summarized retraining programs, rural outreach, internship activities, event statistics and an upcoming study.
Environmental Health Specialist Matt Cory reported on scheduling, upcoming ordinance updates, a wells grant, septic system work, outdoor pool inspections and availability of radon kits. Conservation Director Mike Cox highlighted educational programming, debris site work, grants, capital projects and upcoming events. These reports were accepted as informational and did not require separate Board action beyond inclusion on the agenda.
