Science fair, summer learning academy and May craft fair among planned youth programs

After discussion, the council decided to bring the Science Fair back to teaching staff because it would fall under academics; Principal Amanda Fjeld will consult with teachers on next steps.
The council also recorded several summer and seasonal programs: a 10,000 Shots Club (basketball shot tracking with t-shirts in the fall), a Summer Reading Challenge with scholastic prizes, the district’s first Craft Fair in May and a Book Fair during Grandparents Day and the Craft Fair. An archery offering is under development and the council will continue collecting details as community members provide them. Superintendent Sue Hoeft said she hopes to bring a Summer Learning Academy to Floodwood and will report back as she hears more.
