Superintendent Brian Ton told the board that Bus 12 and the district’s Special Needs buses need to be replaced and that, with the added fee for extended warranties, it would be cheaper to purchase two new buses than to extend warranties on existing vehicles.
The board had approved a related capital project at a prior meeting; at the Nov. 13 session Mr. Ton presented the procurement rationale. No formal procurement vote or dollar amounts were recorded in the minutes; the item was discussed as an update to the board’s previously approved capital plan.
