Engineers' estimate: about $1.6M to repair Elm Street culverts, staff says

Rob Larrea, listed as staff present, told the General Services Committee the Village's engineers provided recent estimates for repairing Elm Street culverts and the adjacent roadbed. "Rough estimates are at 1.6 million dollars," Larrea said.
Committee member Rich Bahle described outreach to potential conservation partners including Conservation Resource Alliance, Trout Unlimited and Networks Northwest, and said the Leelanau County Road Commission had indicated willingness to work with the Village. Larrea cautioned that federal funds carry compliance requirements and that sidewalks are not guaranteed to be covered under the current project scope.
Committee discussion emphasized that an initial hydrology study would help define priorities for repairs and clarify what work could be included under different funding sources.
