Mayor Nidy reports community updates, announces former mayor’s death

The mayor also announced that former Mayor Peter Maly died Saturday, May 9; according to the mayor there will be no services and the family plans a charitable contribution in the former mayor’s name. He reported meeting with property owners Larry and Michael Schiarrra about potential development at 1400 Southern Boulevard; the mayor said the owners again raised purchasing Town Hall but that the council previously denied such an option and would require a formal plan if they wish to pursue changes.
