Litchfield board approves consent agenda, OKs multiple hires ahead of school year

The Litchfield Public Schools Board of Education approved its consent agenda at the Sept. 8, 2025 regular meeting, carrying the motion 6-0. The consent package included prior meeting minutes, board bills and bank transfers, an overnight trip request for the volleyball program and several personnel actions.
Among personnel approvals were hires effective Sept. 9, 2025: Sara Padovan as a special education paraprofessional at the middle school (6.5 hours/day, $19.07/hour); Hayden Schmidt as Custodian I (8 hours/day, $19.09/hour plus $1.00 night differential); Cam Baalson as a special education paraprofessional (6.5 hours/day, $17.26/hour) and separately as a middle school activities supervisor ($19.19/hour); Sara Hight and Gina Coakley as special education paraprofessionals at Lake Ripley (6.25 hours/day, $17.26/hour); and Dylan Koll as the elementary student council advisor at a salary of $744.00 per the master agreement. The board also recorded the resignation of Kelly Jordan, effective Aug. 27, 2025.
The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Darrin Anderson and seconded by Tim Oster; the board vote was recorded as 6-0. These appointments fill roles at the start of the 2025-2026 school year and were presented as routine personnel actions during the meeting.
