Trudy Duroche, director of the Yorba Linda Water District, provided a project update to the council on Feb. 4, 2025. She said work on the Golden Avenue water-line extension is scheduled to begin in May and described coordinated efforts with city staff to create a looped water system that will improve water freshness in the area.
Duroche outlined additional projects that will affect Placentia residents: upsizing water lines on Mackenzie Drive, Loot Avenue, Roxborough Drive and Cedartown Drive to improve fire-flow capacity; fire-flow enhancements at Mabel Paine and Charles Wagner schools; a planned well upgrade to improve flow and water quality; and a plan to take part of a finished-water storage reservoir offline for inspection and repairs while using the other side to maintain service. She also said the district's budgeting process begins in February and invited interest in a Feb. 25 budget workshop at the Yorba Linda Water District headquarters.
