Tina Thompson was elected chair of the Gilpin Township Board of Supervisors during the board's Jan. 6 reorganizational meeting. Multiple supervisors nominated candidates and the board voted by voice; "Tina is now the chairman," a board member stated after the tally.
The board also elected Jeremy Smell as vice chair after nominations and a separate voice vote. The meeting covered a slate of routine reorganization items: Sharon Long was reappointed township secretary-treasurer, Jim Catless was named to the vacancy board, and Charlie Stahl and Chris Kulick were given roles on the negotiations committee. Several appointments were approved by voice vote without a recorded roll-call tally.
The reorganizational actions follow standard municipal practice to position supervisors and delegates for 2025. Supervisors said they would notify appointed representatives of meeting schedules and requested contact information to ensure appointees can attend upcoming committee meetings.
