The Independent School District 279 School Board met in a closed special session on Aug. 27, 2024, in the Forum Room of the Educational Service Center in Maple Grove. Chairperson Jackie Mosqueda-Jones called the meeting to order at 7:54 PM. Board members Thomas Brooks, Tamara Grady, Sarah Mitchell and Tanya Prince were recorded as present; board member Heather Douglass was absent.
District administrators in attendance included Superintendent Dr. Kim Hiel, General Counsel Amy Moore and administrators Lisa Chang, Yvonne Shorts Lind and John Morstad. The minutes state, "The meeting was held for the purpose of labor negotiations." The record notes that an audio recording will be made available to the public after all labor contracts are signed for the current budget period. Chairperson Jackie Mosqueda-Jones adjourned the meeting at 8:39 PM.
