Fridley school board certifies Nov. 4 election results; three members declared elected

Fridley Public School District board Chair Jake Karnopp called a special meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2025, and the board unanimously approved a resolution canvassing returns from the Nov. 4 election. The resolution records that 1,500 district voters cast ballots in the contest for three four-year board seats and lists vote totals for each candidate.
The canvass lists Avonna Starck with 993 votes, Sara Schreiner with 979 and Nikki Auna with 977; those three received the highest totals and are declared elected to four-year terms beginning the first Monday in January 2026. The resolution also records 543 votes for Rich Coleman and 46 write-ins. The board moved to accept the canvass on a motion by Ross Meisner, seconded by Nikki Auna; the roll-call vote was 5-0 in favor.
The resolution directs the clerk to certify the results to the county auditors of each county in which the district is located and to deliver certificates of election after the time for contesting the election has passed and required campaign financial reports are filed. The board voted to accept the canvassing resolution by roll call, with all five members present voting to approve.
