Owatonna board approves student trips, sets tax hearing and raises adult meal prices

The Independent School District 761 board on Aug. 25 approved a series of routine and program items, including two extended student trips, a Truth in Taxation hearing date and an increase in adult meal prices. The board voted unanimously on the measures during the regular meeting at the Charles S. Crandall Center.
"Motion by Kubicek, second by Mohs that the Board approve the increase in the adult breakfast price to $2.50 and the adult lunch price to $5.25 as recommended." The motion to raise adult meal prices carried by unanimous roll call. The meeting also included motions approving travel to Ecuador and to the National FFA Convention and the designation of Dec. 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. as the Truth in Taxation hearing for formal approval of the tax levy.
The board recorded unanimous votes on the listed items and adjourned the meeting at 6:14 p.m. A closed session on labor negotiations strategy was held earlier in the agenda under Minn. Stat. 13D.03.
