Fridley board approves agenda, consent items and three unanimous motions

At its Oct. 21 meeting the Fridley Public Schools board approved the meeting agenda, accepted district gifts, stated intent to issue Series 2026A refunding bonds, and adopted the consent agenda; all recorded votes were unanimous (6-0).
The Fridley Public Schools board opened its Oct. 21 business meeting at 7:32 PM at the Fridley Community Center and approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Board Member Sara Jones, seconded by Nikki Auna; the vote was recorded as 6-0 in favor.
During the session the board also adopted three formal actions by roll-call vote: a resolution accepting gifts to the district (including Care Kits donated by the FBI Minneapolis Citizens Academy Alumni Association), a resolution stating the district's intention to issue General Obligation School Building and Alternative Facilities Refunding Bonds, Series 2026A, and approval of a consent agenda covering minutes, personnel actions, the 2025-26 Statement of Assurances and a 2026-27 school year start date of September 1, 2026. Each of those motions passed unanimously (6-0). The official roll-call voting members were Nikki Auna, Sara Jones, Jake Karnopp, Ross Meisner, Sara Schreiner and Avonna Starck.
The meeting adjourned at 8:12 PM after a motion by Ross Meisner and second by Sara Schreiner; the clerk recorded the motion as carried 6-0. Meeting minutes bear the signatures of Board Chair Jake Karnopp and Board Clerk Avonna Starck.
