The clerk read the Registrar of Voters' certification of the Nov. 5, 2024 consolidated results, listing vote totals and declaring winners for several city seats. Council adopted Resolution R2024-87 by roll call vote (5–0). The council administered oaths of office to re-elected City Treasurer Kevin Larson and newly seated council members, and opened nominations for mayor and mayor pro tem.
Kevin Kerwin was nominated and elected mayor for the 12/17/2024–12/09/2025 term by unanimous council vote; Kerwin outlined a "back to basics" theme emphasizing streets, parks and fiscal discipline. Chad Vanka was elected mayor pro tem and sworn in for the same term. The council adjourned after brief remarks and a reception.
