District proposes limits on daily device use for younger grades, staff cite strong teacher support

For grades 3–6 the district proposed limits of about 1 hour per day (up to 5 hours per week), with flexibility for project-based work. "Right now, we've talked about the fact with our staff that this is gonna be an evolving process..." the presenter said, describing the phased approach.
Staff reported a teacher survey with 97 responses and said 88.6% of respondents strongly agreed or agreed with the proposed direction. Teachers flagged needs for printed materials, professional development on student engagement and flexibility for special projects; staff said they will continue to collect feedback and adjust the plan as needed.
