Board completes second reading of student-discipline and privacy policies; vote set for June 3

At the May 20 work session the St. Anthony–New Brighton School Board completed a second reading of several district policies and scheduled them for final action at the June 3 regular meeting.
The policies reviewed on the second reading included Policy 506 (Student Discipline), Policy 515 (Protection and Privacy of Pupil Records), Policy 601 (Curriculum and Instructional Goals), Policy 603 (Curriculum Development), Policy 620 (Credit for Learning) and Policy 901 (Community Education). Board materials show the discipline policy (506) was revised to align with the Minnesota Pupil Fair Dismissal Act and to clarify non‑exclusionary practices, restraint reporting and readmission planning; the privacy policy (515) incorporates FERPA and Minnesota data‑practice cross references and identifies the superintendent as the responsible authority.
Members did not take final votes on the policies at the work session; administration and board members said the policies will return for formal adoption at the board’s June 3 meeting.
