Human resources staff told the committee that succession planning and organizational development remain active priorities after fully filling senior management positions in 2025. "In 2025, we continue to make, pretty good progress on our succession planning and organizational development strategic priority by successfully filling all of our senior management positions," the human resources official said, adding the work will extend into 2026.
The official said the district will ask managers to provide advance notice of anticipated retirements, identify skills gaps across supervisor and managerial levels, and target training and development accordingly. The staff presentation said six more alumni of the district's leadership development program are expected in two months and additional graduates are planned for 2026. Committee members asked for continued reporting on staffing needs and how succession plans align with upcoming capital and operational projects.
