Mayor Singh introduced Ordinance 26-1780, an ordinance authorizing the acquisition by gift of property identified as Block 6001, Lot 33.03 (off proposed Dayflower Drive) for open-space purposes. The mayor framed the acquisition within the township's continuing open-space priorities and environmental benefits such as flood mitigation, habitat protection and preservation of local farmland.
The ordinance passed first reading and the committee scheduled a public hearing and vote for the Aug. 20, 2026 meeting. Committee members said they will provide additional documentation on the property and its intended management ahead of the hearing.
