The Brookings‑Harbor School Board formally administered the oath of office to Board Member Janece Payne at its Aug. 20 regular meeting. Superintendent Helena Chirinian led the swearing‑in as the board opened the new school year calendar.
The ceremony preceded a series of district reports and presentations, including a literacy tutoring update and the district's annual planning reports. Chair Jay Trost called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.; the meeting adjourned at 6:18 p.m. after the board approved routine items and scheduled a work session for later that evening.
